Who is Living Hope Ministries?

Living Hope Ministries is a ministry of Living Hope Christian Fellowship, which is a small non-denominational evangelical church located in Brigham City, Utah. We currently have four staff members, including the pastor of the church, two producers, and one distribution/office manager. We also have numerous volunteers, most of whom are connected to the Living Hope church.

What is your mission and your objectives?

Our mission is to share biblical truths with Latter-day Saints, and to encourage, educate, and equip other Christians to do the same, so that Latter-day Saints may come to a saving knowledge of the biblical Jesus Christ.

Are you former Mormons?

Actually, none of the staff of Living Hope were ever directly involved in Mormonism. However, many people in the Living Hope congregation do come from an LDS background. And our being situated in a predominantly LDS community means that we have a heart to reach these people for Jesus Christ.

How did this ministry begin?

Living Hope Church had a certain amount of savings (from not having had a paid pastor for several years), and the question was brought up, “What are we sitting on this for? Why not use it for something to reach out to the community?” The DNA issue was surfacing about this time, and several members of the church decided to try their hand at producing a video about the subject, and the end result was DNA vs. The Book of Mormon, which was released in 2003.

This was originally intended to be a one-time event, and the target audience was originally our own small town of Brigham City. However, the video seemed to strike a chord with people around the state and the country involved in ministry to Mormons, and as word-of-mouth spread the news, and demand picked up for the video, we began praying about whether we should form a ministry in earnest and continue producing and distributing videos.

How is Living Hope Ministries supported?

Living Hope Ministries is entirely supported by gifts and donations.

While we do ask for a modest amount for our videos ($4 each in quantities of 10 or more), this covers only our material and distribution costs. (We also give many videos away.) Our goal is to keep the cost low, to encourage people to get many copies to give away. The amount we request for videos does not cover production expenses or production salaries. (Part of the video proceeds helps pay the salary of our distribution manager, who is essential in getting them distributed.) All other expenses, including other salaries and operating costs, are covered solely by gifts and freewill donations, apart from what is given for videos.

Living Hope Ministries is under the 501(c)(3) umbrella of Living Hope Christian Fellowship; all contributions are tax-deductible in the United States.

What are Living Hope Ministries’ plans for the future?

Living Hope Ministries plans to continue producing videos on timely and relevant topics as God leads and as resources allow. We are committed producing and distributing videos that can be used of God to advance His Kingdom. What shape that may take in the future…we don’t know! For the time being, we believe God has called us specifically to address Mormon issues, and we do not have plans to divert from that; however, neither are we limited by this, should God lead us in new directions.

I have a video I'd like to produce. Can Living Hope help me do that?

Living Hope Ministries is not really a “production company” that can receive outside contracts or projects. We don't have the human resources or time to dedicate to anything beyond the projects that we ourselves are working on. We do, however, have some suggestions for other solutions if you are needing help!
